Mikel Arteta dismissed solutions Arsenal had been over-reliant on set-pieces following the 1-1 draw at Fulham this afternoon.

William Saliba bought Arsenal’s equaliser from a nook, cancelling out Raul Jimenez’s opener, prodding dwelling after Kai Havertz had knocked down Declan Rice’s supply.

It was the fourth sport in succession that the Gunners had scored from a nook, and the twenty third time they’ve managed it for the reason that begin of final season, essentially the most in Europe’s top-five leagues.

Extra worryingly was the very fact their open play xG at Craven Cottage was simply 0.3.

Not the outcome we wished. Not the outcome your help deserved.

Arteta stated: “I believe it’s an ideal factor that we are able to once more rating from a set piece. We will generate different stuff, we had different probabilities. For a crew to play like this it’s a must to analyse each section. Clearly in opposition to a low block you generate set items and also you generate crosses as a result of it’s actually tough to assault inside.”

Requested if his crew had been creating sufficient probabilities from open play, he added: “It’s by no means sufficient when you don’t rating three, 4 or 5.

“We need to enhance in every part that we completely do. In the event that they play 11 or 12 direct balls there, I need to win 11. If it’s 12, then 12. If we win the excessive press and we launch the unit out broad and so they need to play, six instances, six instances. And after we handle the sport, we need to administration the sport 100 per cent. That’s soccer.”

Gutted Arteta bemoans nice margins

With Liverpool not taking part in because of the postponement of the Merseyside derby, Arsenal didn’t take full benefit, though they did have a late Bukayo Saka purpose dominated out for a marginal offside.

Arteta stated: “Gutted that we didn’t win it, as a result of I believe we deserved to win from the start to the tip. We did nearly every part that we needed to do to win it. However that is the standard of the opposition, with one likelihood they rating a purpose. After which the margins of the league as effectively.

“For millimetres we might have been sitting right here with three factors after a extremely robust and dominant efficiency in opposition to a extremely good crew.

“We can not really feel sorry for ourselves. We’ve to face up for ourselves. We had a extremely good efficiency in opposition to a extremely good facet. Usually you don’t see these sort of video games right here. Now we’ve to proceed to enhance and take a look at what we are able to do higher in order that the opposition have zero probabilities to win the sport. That’s the target.”
