1965—Simply 3 months after his gorgeous win within the 10,000-meter on the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, Billy Mills pulled off one other shock by profitable the mile on the 11-lap indoor monitor on the Examiner Invitational in San Francisco.

1994–Bert Nelson, who co-founded Monitor and Subject Information together with his brother Cordner in 1948,  died after an extended battle with Parkinson’s Illness.  Nelson was inducted into USATF’s Corridor of Fame in 1991 (Cordner was inducted in 1988)

Mentioned his brother on the time, “When you consider Monitor and Subject Information has contributed to the game, then you need to credit score Bert as a result of, with out him, there can be no T&FN.”

Germán Silva—Mexico  57 (1968)   2-time winner of the NY Metropolis Marathon (1994, 1995)

Bob Giegengack 80 (1907-Could 25, 1987) Former coach at Fordham and Yale

           Head U.S. Males’s coach on the 1964 Olympics, Assistant Coach in 1956

           Among the many athletes he coached at Yale have been Frank Shorter, Wendell Mottley, Jay Luck, and Mark Younger. Subject occasion

                    stars who competed for Yale throughout Giegengack’s time on the college included Calvin Hill, Jim Fuchs, and Vic Frank.

           Started his teaching profession at Fordham in 1938 on the age of 31, making him the youngest head T&F coach within the

               U.S. Led the Rams to the 1941 IC4A Indoor workforce title.

           Inducted into the Nationwide Corridor of Fame in 1978.

           The Giegengack Award is introduced yearly on the USATF Assembly to an individual “who excels in contributing to the excellence and

               excessive requirements of the game of Athletics.”

Ollie Manninen 81 (1917-Jan.7, 1999) 1948 U.S. Olympian-Marathon (twenty fourth)

           Accomplished 18 Boston Marathons

           From Olympedia: Manninen served within the tenth Mountain Division below Common Lucien Truscott throughout World Battle II.
