Australian teenager Cameron Myers sliced nearly two seconds off the world indoor under-20 mile report with 3:53.12 on the Dr Sander Invitational in New York on Saturday (Jan 25).
In his first-ever indoor race, the 18-year-old held off Festus Lagat of Kenya and Adam Fogg of Britain to win. The US-based Fogg additionally impressed with 3:53.49, though in coming weeks he will likely be hoping to get nearer to his PB of three:49.62 which was set final 12 months.
Myers’ time improved the three:55.02 world under-20 report of German Fernandez which was set by the American in 2009.
