SPRINGFIELD, Ailing. — Kody Swanson gained his first dust USAC Silver Crown Sequence race since 2021 Saturday afternoon on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
Swanson drove the John Haggenbottom No. 24 to victory on the one-mile dust observe to win the Bettenhausen 100 for the fourth time.
It was the primary Silver Crown victory for the Haggenbottom crew.
Swanson was the quick qualifier for the 38-car discipline and took the lead for the second time on lap 59. He led the ultimate 41 laps for his fifth victory of the season and the forty ninth of his profession.
Matt Westfall, who led the primary eight laps, completed second.
Mario Clouser, level chief Justin Grant and C.J. Leary rounded out the highest 5.
Veteran Brian Tyler charged from twenty sixth to complete sixth.
