The Serbian star booked his place within the 144th ATP closing of his profession with a straight-sets victory over world No. 117, Germany’s Yannick Hanfmann, 6–3, 6–4.
The semifinal conflict on the Vanda Prescription drugs Hellenic Championship within the Greek capital lasted one hour and 19 minutes.
The opening set was determined by a break within the sixth recreation, when Novak transformed his third break level. The German had no solutions on return, as Djokovic dominated behind his serve and calmly closed out the set.
Within the second set, the 199th ATP semifinal of his profession, Novak had a slower begin, permitting Hanfmann to interrupt within the fourth recreation for a 3–1 lead. However the world No. 5 instantly struck again, leveling at 3–3 after which breaking once more to take full management, paving his approach to victory.
Within the closing, Novak will face the winner of the match between Lorenzo Musetti (Italy, 2) and Sebastian Korda (USA).
The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. CET.
