Former U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick of Staff GB withdrew from the Olympic males’s golf competitors after he shot an 81 on Saturday due to a thumb harm.
A press release from the Worldwide Golf Federation mentioned Fitzpatrick had a pressure in his proper thumb going into the event at Le Golf Nationwide.

Fitzpatrick shot a 64 on Friday to get again to the perimeter of competition. The third spherical left him far behind. He hit into the water for a double bogey on the thirteenth, after which discovered the water off the tee and together with his third shot on the fifteenth, taking a quadruple bogey.
Fitzpatrick, who received the U.S. Open at Brookline in 2022, is No. 22 on the planet rankings. His final victory was the Dunhill Hyperlinks Championship within the autumn of 2023.
