1909–American Albert Raines received the Bronx-Marathon in 2:46:04.6, which was sooner than the listed World File, however Nice Britain’s Henry Barrett  ran 2:42:31.0 earlier within the day  in London.  (Some sources record the date for Barrett’s race as Could 26, however proof suggests it really occurred on Could 8).

1937—USC teammates Earle Meadows and Invoice Sefton rode their bamboo poles to a top of 14-8  ½ (4.48) on the USC-Stanford twin meet at Stanford to interrupt Sefton’s American File of 14-7  3/8 (4.45). 1988—Tom McCants beat coaching associate Jerome Carter on misses as each males cleared 7-9 ¼ (2.37) on the Jesse Owens meet in Columbus, Ohio, to interrupt Jim Howard’s American File within the Excessive Bounce (7-8  ¾ [2.36m]). Learn extra on the hyperlink under.

2004—Stanford grad Toby Stevenson grew to become the 2nd American to hitch an unique membership when he vaulted 6-meters       (19-8  ¼) on the Modesto Relays. He beat Jeff Hartwig (18-10  ¼ [5.75]), the primary American to hitch the membership, and Brad Walker (18-6  ½ [5.65]), who would take part 2006.
