Canadians Isabella Holmgren (Lidl-Trek) and Ian Ackert (Trek Future Racing) captured C2 dash victories in respective elite ladies’s and elite males’s races at Thunder Cross in Missoula, Montana on Saturday.
Holmgren accelerated away from compatriot Sidney McGill to win the ladies’s six-lap race at Large Sky Park.Â
The Canadian duo took the highest two spots whereas the US duo of Katie Clouse (Steve Tilford Basis Racing) and Natalie Quinn (CCB p/b Levine Legislation Group) battled 30 seconds again on the ultimate lap for the remaining spot on the rostrum. Clouse distanced Quinn by seven seconds on the twisting course to take third.
Ackert went head-to-head with Scott Funston (Cervelo Orange Residing) for almost all of the eight-lap elite males’s race and narrowly defeated the US rider on the ultimate stretch of pavement.Â
Curtis White (Steve Tilford Basis Racing) used the ultimate two laps to make inroads on Eric Brunner (Aggressive Edge Racing) for third place, overtaking the four-time Pan-American champion by seconds on the end line.
