Seven months after Chris Eubank Jr outpointed Conor Benn, the pair are set to run it again, and Tony Bellew has now provided his ideas on the rematch.
1 / 4 of a century on from his father’s preliminary grudge match triumph in opposition to Nigel Benn, Eubank Jr replicated his success and secured a well-known unanimous determination victory over Conor Benn in April.
Now, simply months after a well-documented troublesome weight lower and journey to hospital through the aftermath, 36-year-old Eubank Jr seems to do the double over his foe, as soon as once more hampered by a 160lb weight restrict and a restrictive rehydration clause.
Talking at a SportingTalk press convention forward of the rematch, former cruiserweight world champion Bellew believes the second instalment of this rivalry could have come too quickly for Eubank.
“With the turnaround pace of this battle, it’ll profit Conor Benn extra; the youthful man would be the more energizing man.
I don’t need to put him because the favorite, however [because] the older and heavier man [Eubank] will come on stronger afterward within the battle.
I simply really feel that he discovered extra from the final battle, Conor Benn, and I feel this time he presumably does eliminate him [inside of the distance].
He had him out on his toes two or 3 times [in the last fight] and he simply didn’t have it in him to press him.”
Eubank and Benn will high one other invoice on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend; joined by the likes of Adam Azim, Jack Catterall and Ishmael Davis on the undercard.
