Confession time: I by no means really completed the unique Subnautica. It is not that I did not love its intelligent mixture of sandbox survival and structured narrative; it is simply that I am a large wuss on the subject of the ocean. Or what lies beneath, a minimum of. Subnautica’s sun-kissed Secure Shallows? Superb, pretty. Kelp Forest’s growing murk? Nerves beginning to tingle. The yawning abyss of oceanic horrors just about in all places else on the map? Bollocks to that. Let’s simply say I performed many of the authentic cresting gingerly alongside the floor attempting to not suppose an excessive amount of about what is likely to be lurking beneath. So once I lastly reached the purpose the one means left to go was down, effectively, that was me performed. In different phrases, I may instantly see the enchantment of Subnautica 2’s co-op companionship, the reassuring sense of security in numbers, the second it was introduced.
