Not even a month into the common season and it certain looks like the Mets season is nearly over.
Homeowners of an 11-game shedding streak and tied with the Royals — who simply stunk up Yankee Stadium for 3 days — for the worst document within the majors heading into Monday, the Mets don’t seem to have a lot motive for optimism.
But when the Mets aren’t going to fold utterly, this subsequent nine-game stretch — with three straight sequence at residence in opposition to groups that they’re clearly presupposed to be higher than — can be the time for a turnaround.
The issue, not less than in response to some scouts and executives, is that it could already be too late.
