Pink Bull have filed a protest towards Mercedes driver George Russell following the F1 Miami Grand Prix.
Russell benefitted from pitting below a Digital Security Automobile interval throughout Sunday’s race to leap forward of Max Verstappen and declare the ultimate spot on the rostrum in third, behind the dominant McLarens.
Pink Bull imagine Russell did not sluggish for yellow flags when Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto retired with engine bother on Lap 33.
Verstappen was heard radioing in to his staff to complain that Russell had not revered the yellow flags.
The Dutchman was later advised to make sure he completed inside 5 seconds of Russell. He crossed the road 2.3s behind the Mercedes driver.
This was regardless of no messages from race management about any investigation.
Pink Bull subsequently determined to lodge a protest towards Russell following the race.
Each Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly had been summoned to see the stewards for an alleged breach of Appendix H of Article 2.5.5 of the FIA’s Worldwide Sporting Code, which pertains to failing to sluggish for yellow flags.
Russell has been summoned to see the stewards in regards to the incident following Pink Bull’s protest.
The Briton didn’t attend the post-race FIA press convention for medical causes, having complained of getting unhealthy abdomen cramps within the closing phases of the race.
